Tweetmeme.com is a re-twitting new site with an amazing web traffic raising in the last months. Basically it shows though its algorithm, the most twitted links or the ones with more momentum.
As you can see in the graphic, since February 2009 the traffic raised in a crazy manner. It looks like the original and simple Twitter idea is creating enormous synergies not just in twitter.com as in re-twitting sites like:
- Tweetmeme.com
- Twitturly.com
- Twitlinks.com
Where basically the idea is just use Twitter fresh information in a kind of “digg.com” style.
Tweetmeme recently suffered a re-styling including lots of new and smart features. The biggest one is the top bar (frame), at the top of the page. This bar creates a new browsing experience, make you able to go back to the main page, as well as discovering new and interesting tweets.
The tweetmeme buttons aka “retweet” are exactly the same idea as digg.com or meneame.com.
It is a the same concept, yes, but it is a good concept, so, why not using it? By developing a proper Wordpress Theme (Tweetmeme Wordpress Plugin) , you get lots of geeks promoting their good and fresh links in blogs arround the globe (like us).
